Method
- Soak the lentils for three to four hours.
- Then drain all the water very well and grind them in a food processor.
- Put the grind lentils in a bowl and add the remaining ingredients. Mix everything very well.
- Put a pan with plenty of oil. When it is hot enough, take small portions of dough with a spoon and add them to the oil.
- Fry them over a medium flame until they are golden brown. Serve with mint chutney or ketchup.
Notes
Tips and tricks:
- You have to drain the lentils very well after soaking.
- For grinding the lentils do not add water, they don’t have to be very fine.
- A good crispy Piyaju should have a lot of onion, so make sure to add plenty of onion.
- You can prepare them without ginger- garlic paste, but I usually add very little because it increases the taste a lot.
